Open Arms Children's Home is our flagship therapeutic residence, purpose-designed to provide a nurturing, predictable environment for children and young people aged 6–17 with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Every room, every space and every detail has been chosen with our therapeutic model of care in mind — creating a home that feels safe, stimulating and genuinely child-centred.
A Shared Space That Feels Like Home
Our spacious lounge is designed to encourage connection, relaxation and co-regulation. Comfortable seating, personal touches and a calm atmosphere give children a place to unwind, socialise and feel genuinely at home — not in an institution.

Shared living spaces are central to our therapeutic model. They provide opportunities for children to practise social skills, build trust with staff and develop a sense of belonging.
Personal Bedrooms — A Space of Their Own
Each child has their own thoughtfully furnished bedroom with calming sage-green décor, ample storage and a dedicated study area. Children are encouraged to personalise their space, fostering a sense of ownership and identity.

Having a private, consistent space is fundamental to emotional regulation and attachment. Our bedrooms are designed to be sanctuaries — predictable, calming and entirely the child's own.
The Loft Suite — Space to Grow
Our generous loft bedroom offers a unique, light-filled retreat with natural skylights and bespoke fitted storage. Ideal for older young people who benefit from additional privacy and independence.

As children develop, their need for autonomy grows. The loft suite supports this transition, providing a space that respects their growing independence while keeping them within a safe, supported environment.
A Kitchen at the Heart of the Home
Our fully equipped kitchen opens directly onto the garden, creating a natural flow between indoor and outdoor living. Children are supported to participate in meal preparation, building life skills in a safe, supervised environment.
Therapeutic significance
Cooking together is one of the most powerful therapeutic tools we use. It builds routine, develops independence, encourages communication and creates shared moments of achievement and joy.
Calm, Dignified Bathroom Spaces
Our marble-finish bathroom is designed to feel calm and dignified — a far cry from institutional settings. Natural light, plants and quality fixtures create a space where children can develop personal care routines with confidence.
Therapeutic significance
Personal hygiene routines are a key area of development for many of the children we support. A calm, attractive bathroom reduces anxiety around these routines and supports children to develop independence and self-care skills.
Outdoor Space for Play, Rest and Recovery
Our enclosed rear garden provides a safe, stimulating outdoor environment with a patio area for socialising, a hammock for sensory relaxation and open lawn space for physical activity. The garden is fully secure and accessible year-round.

Outdoor space is integral to our therapeutic offer. Time in nature, physical activity and unstructured outdoor play all contribute to emotional regulation, sensory processing and overall wellbeing.
